As the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise #26 gets ready to hit the high seas, we thought we'd share a few sure to become, special moments of the Blues Cruise Experience.
As in past cruises Legendary promoter Roger Naber, who believes in sharing the blues around the world by showcasing the talent aboard the LRBC in the ships port of calls whenever possible.
On the LRBC #26 Roger has partnered with the Virgin Island Board of Tourism to provide a free concert on the island of St. Croix in Frederiksted on Wednesday January 20, 2016. The action will start at noon at Rhythms at Rainbow with Chris Klein and the Boulevards laying down some New Orleans funky grooves. Then, from 1 until 11 PM, on the waterfront at Strand Street the show begins complete with local arts & crafts, food, and drink vendors.
The music on the waterfront begins with the local youth group Mind, Body and Soul, who will be followed by Eddie Russell Music. Then, from the ship, there will be performances by The Ruthie Foster Band, The North Mississippi All Stars, and Latimore. The party will continue with Stanley and the Ten Sleepless Knights from 9-11 p.m. as the ship departs the island.
On Thursday January 21, 2016 on the beautiful island of Tortola another LRBC production from noon until 5 PM, at Mayett’s in Cane Garden Bay featuring Toronzo Cannon, Danielle Nicole, Mitch Woods & The MJ Blues Band.
A special on-board event Friday January 22, 2016 from 11:30 AM until 12:30 pm in the Showroom At Sea with Editor-In-Chief Art Tipaldi will be Blues Music Magazine present “Growing Up In Chicago Blues featuring Toronzo Cannon, Elvin Bishop, Mighty Mo Rodgers, Ronnie Baker Brooks, Sugar Blue, Rico McFarland and will surely be very entertaining. As always whenever this writer is asked the often asked question "How was the cruise" and only one answer that has ever come to mind is, "It was Legendary"!
